It probably won't cure the problem, but you could put a thicker oil in 
just to see what effect it has. Later BMC manuals endorse 20W-50--I used 
it in my BJ8 for many miles--but I've run MT-90 in the BJ8 and BN2 for 
years; works the same in both boxes.
