Charles and others:

 

I cannot believe the Denis Welch is still using such a convoluted method of
ordering, shipping and payments for their international customers, when so
many other U.K. suppliers are up to date on servicing their customers.  The
US must be their largest potential market, yet, they do not seem to make it
easy for them with more expensive shipping, add on fees and so on.

 

Just my thought since I spend over 40 years traveling the world servicing
customers with American Product.

Thought I'd give closure to my adventures with Denis Welch.  Recalling, some
weeks ago, I tried to order an aluminum head & accessories and pay with
VISA.

Welch rejected the VISA, telling me to deposit the money to their bank, in
Pound Sterling only!  My bank couldn't do that, so I set up a service (AFEX)
that could do this

at a reasonable rate. Last Friday, at the last minute, I get an email from
Welch saying they could take my VISA, but only over the phone!  I only have
a cellphone,

which won't let me call overseas, but they can call me!  I emailed them to
call me immediately, which they did. The shipment arrived Tuesday, I had to
pay UPS a $45 "import fee."

No mention (yet) of sales tax.  So, all is well.  Thanks for all the replies
& advice.  Hope to get it installed in a week or so.
