Brad,
I feel your frustration. I constructed my own wood rear seat assembly for my
65 BJ8 phase I from pattern taken from a punky spare 67 BJ8 phase 2 (New hinges
from Healey Surgeons). It was about 5/8 inch too wide. Many trimming and
refitting tries to get it to fit. Also I needed to make sure covering was not
too thick. Had some vinyl with fuzzy backing and noticed that many wood parts
were covered with non fuzzy back vinyl. Canâ??t suggest any easy fix for too
wide. I think that youâ??ll have to strip end pieces and plane them to gain
clearance.
