The Hershey hill climb is still run, by the VSCCA, as The Grand Ascent =
(the Friday & Saturday before The Elegance concours). Though the =
drivers now show considerably more restraint than those in the video =
(thanks for the link, Perry!), occasionally someone still collects a =
tree....

Subject: [Healeys] Quick Change Rear Axle / Hill Climb Video
Rick Neville asked what engine would be used in the=E2=80=9D Hill Climb =
Car=E2=80=9D and I offered the info below. (with a couple corrections)

Rick
This car competed in the Hershey Hill Climb (HHC) years ago. The HHC =
started back in 1958, so this Healey would have been nearly new when =
they had the first race. However we have not been able to trace the =
exact years the car ran because of several factors but believe it ran in =
1964.=20
Because of the cars history, my Brother in law has decided to keep it in =
a semi-period race trim. It will be using the Healey six engine and a =
center shift trans. =20

=20
For all who would enjoy some old racing footage, a bit of which has =
Austin Healeys in it, see the link to the 1964 Hershey Hill Climb.=20
http://slotblog.net/topic/81627-1964-hershey-hillclimb/
Check the time at 2:25 for a Healey crash. A real tree hugger!
See 3:00 for car #90 that we believe is the old Healey racer currently =
in our garage.=20
Have fun. These old timers must have been a bit crazy.=20
