I use and old spark plug socket with a slot cut into it. Push it on the nut
and use a hose clamp to keep the socket from expanding when you turn it,
Be careful. the nut is soft (brass?) and its easy to round the corners. I
would remove the thermostat and spray PB Blaster all over the threads that
stick into the housing
