...it sounds like yours is an aftermarket badge Lin. I went through 3 of th=
ose, including one from a UK supplier who claimed theirs were from a differ=
ent supplier from the rest, and better. They all shed their red script, one=
in almost one piece. I figure that the skills/techniques to do these prope=
rly has been lost. The main issue seems to be that a) the casting of the sc=
ript is too shallow, and the edges not sufficiently sharp, and b) the chrom=
e plating in the script isn=E2=80=99t etched or otherwise prepared to form =
a key for the cloisonn=C3=A9. The original badge on my other Healey is fine=
after 63 years. I eventually gave up & painted the script!!
Cheers

I should have added that cloisonn=C3=A9 badges that I have seen which requi=
red repair seemed to be cracked, often with small pieces of the material mi=
ssing, while on my badge the color seems to have just =E2=80=9Cpeeled=E2=80=
=9D off.

Bad news Lin, the red in the badges is not paint, it is=C2=A0cloisonn=C3=A9=
.
Thats a type of glass and paint just doesn't look the same.
There are places where you can get it redone.
