My mom's Lincoln LS has such a system (I believe it has a British-built
engine, same as the Ford-built Jags). Because of the steep slope of the
bonnet, the top of the radiator is below the high point in the engine's
cooling system. You have to vent the air in the high point--sometimes
called 'burping' the engine--but, fortunately, the Lincoln has a vent
that can be opened.
