A smear of graphite grease and turn it on & off occasionally. But those
things do freeze up that's for sure.
A light tap on the tapered end often frees them up. They're easy enough to
rebuild.

Any recommendation for a lubricant for the taper of the heater valve that
attaches to the cylinder head?  I'm thinking of using a marine seacock
grease.
