We usually install 185 70 15 either the Vrederstien or Pirelli on the wheels
that are going to be on the ground. Then the spare tire we usually use a 165
15. This way there isnt a problem with the spare tire fitting. And since the
spare is rarely used the diffenence is sizes isnt a problem. Since they are the
same diamater. Also if you do need to use the spare tire the 185 70 will fit in
the trunk when it is low on air or flat.

Mark ? will the 185 fit if you trim down one of the wooden spacer blocks that
space the tire out from the quarter panel and bulkhead?

Subject: [Healeys] Tire/wheel combo for BT7
Listers,
I will be replacing the original painted 48 spoke wire wheel and 15 year old
165/15. I'd like to get a larger wheel/tire combo as a spare. I have 72 spoke
wheels on 185 Vredresteins that do not fit in the trunk What is the largest
tire/wheel combo that will fit in the trunk (boot).
Thanks,
Mark Fawcett
