The oil pressure and water temp gauges are both Bourdon tubes. If I was 
prepared to send the safety gauge to a specialist anyway--about 
$200-300--for overhaul I might try squirting electronics cleaner 
GENTLY--i.e. just a dribble--into the fittings and gently drying them 
with air (like from the keyboard spray cleaners).  If oil is inside the 
gauge housing you're probably better off sending it in.

Actually, I doubt if oil in the oil pressure gauge Bourdon tube is a 
problem, as some will likely get in there anyway.
