In Targa Newfoundland, after grounding on a rock at the beginning of a long
stage and breaking the drain plug out of the sump, we drove AHX12 for 20
miles at race speeds with NO OIL at all in the engine.
After the event and 3 more days of competition we disassembled the engine
and could find no evidence of damage...
That experience convinced me that the few seconds required to achieve oil
pressure after an oil and filter change is not something to worry about!!!
