I recall doing this as I was lucky enough to have a part-damaged grille =
in the =E2=80=9Cbox of bits=E2=80=9D that came with the car. I just used =
ordinary pop rivets, available pretty well anywhere. The rivets =
don=E2=80=99t show and I do doubt that the factory used anything too =
clever! They=E2=80=99ve been in there for 15-20 years now and seem to be =
doing OK.

I am trying to restore a damaged grille, I am drilling out those very =
small copper rivets that hold the slats in place in an early 3000 grille =
so I can straighten the bent slats. Does anyone know of a source for =
