No, I don't think it would damage the paint that isn't going to be =
drilled out anyway.  That has been my experience.  If possible, you can =
back up the area to be punched with a piece of scrap wood or similar to =
minimize the area affected by punching.

Have a just finished BN2 body and have not drilled any holes in it yet.  =
Just don't want to screw up the paint job after costing so much.  I had =
not thought of using a puch to "start" the hole.  Wouldn't that crack =
the paint?
