I will echo Rick's remark; the forward voltage drop across an LED is =
about 3.3 or 3.4 volts. Maybe there are several (7?) LEDs in series or =
maybe a resistor in series as Rick suggests. If the replacement power =
supply is not an EXACT replacement, perhaps including the resistor, I'd =
proceed with great caution.

The part that bothers me is the 24V. That is way, more voltage than an =
LED is supposed to run on. There needs to be a dropping resistor in the =
circuit or the LEDs will go up in smoke.

This really is not a car-related question though I guess we could make =

I have some 24VDC outdoor LED lighting and the wall-plug type =
transformer is defective. I cannot determine which of the two fine =
wires that run to the appliance (LED's) is positive. I can find a =

Here's the question: I understand that LEDs are polarity-sensitive and =
if I wire them up backwards will I destroy the LEDs or can I simply =
reverse the polarity?
