My experience has been if the carpet is wet under the pedal, its the master 
cylinder leaking and fluid running down the pedal onto the carpet.  If there is 
no sign of any leaking fluid anywhere but the level is down, its going into the 
servo, getting sucked up into the engine and burned out the exhaust.
