It's been a few years but I've been there. After 2 or 3 angle drives and a r=
ebuild of my speedo a couple of times, it turned out the speedo end of the c=
able was too long causing the cable to bind in the speedo. Per MoMa, the exp=
osed length of cable at the speedo end with the nut that attaches to the spe=
edo fully pulled up should be 3/16". My notes also show the amount of expos=
ed cable at the speedo end, sans attaching nut, should be 3/8". I believe yo=
u can use fibre washers to make this adjustment.=20
Once I adjusted the speedo end my problems have gone away, at least for the l=
ast 4,000 miles.=20

r washers, trying to overcome any marginal tolerance issues.<span style=3D"m=

autox archive and this question went around in 2009; at the time, the remed=
y was to use only graphite (no grease) to lubricate the speedometer cable.<s=
