Actually Price there is probably an easier solution.
The thread is in a tube which has a thread cut in each end and an unthreade=
d section between the threads.
I would suggest tapping the tube a little deeper and using a longer bolt.

Thanks to all.  Heli-coil sounds like the way to go.  I should have stated =
that the bolt is for a tow hook eye.  Sorry if I got some scratching their =
