A very common solution to help determine if baffling helps is to either
tape & foam up all the gaps between the front of the radiator to the back
of the radiator. I agree the healey ducting is only partial, and if you
try to close up as much of the gaps as possible, you will see a noticeable
difference.
Also, my big thing is to ceramic coat the headers... pushes the hot air out
the back of the pipe rather than having it radiate out in the compartment.
