That prohibition dates from around 1990. Things have changed a bit since
then.
We can try it for a few days, and see how it goes.

I am on the list for nearly the same time than Steve, but not really active
for some time. To be honest the subjects of most of this years postings
didn`t attract me at all to respond. I.e. I am not interested in fixing
unneccessary modern gimmicks or modifying things which work fine in standard
original version.
I think the good old times, where this list was a source of unrivaled wisdom
on Austin-Healey are gone. Many friends left already. Think I am also
leaving soon.

I've been on the list since 1996, and joined the forum early after its
creation in 2001. However, I also prefer the format of the list and I
dislike the custom on the forum of "pseudonyms" and not being able to
communicate directly with the other members without going through the
Private Message system. My experience has been only about a 20% response to
private messages.
Anyway, lately the traffic on the list has been so sparse that I've been
forced into more participation in the forum. Most of the old list regulars
apparently are long gone. Too bad.
Happy Healeydays, Healeyphiles!

John,
Are you referring to the hole in the cylinder head or the pedestal? I
was asking about the threads in the pedestal which are a straight
thread. The cylinder head threads are tapered, probably 1/8 NPT as you
say. The same threads in the 100's cylinder head are straight.

I'm still here and on BCF and AHExp. Each has their advantages and I don't
see it as an either/or thing. I wonder how a new Healey owner would find
the list. If I was looking for a marque specific source, I'd probably
Google "Austin Healey forum" rather than :Austin Healey mailing list" A
search for "Austin Healey forum" won't pick up any reference to the list.
I like the idea of pictures attached.
Happy Holidays to all

Modesto, just about dead center in the state. My father actually took the
measurements of the piece for Michael, since
our BN2 is in late stage restoration in Modesto.

I'm diagonally opposed to Bob, as far as where I'm situated in North America.
I live in Nova Scotia, Canada. I happened to have the piece in question, which
I had salvaged, along with whatever few other parts were useable, from a
rusted and flattened early 100 body which had lain half-buried in a field for
years. The holes in my piece lined up perfectly with the holes in Michael's
body, and as a bonus the covering was still intact.
I own a 1959 BN4, which I restored (for the second time) about 8 years ago.
The restoration included a new frame sourced from Kilmartins. Getting that
from Australia to Nova Scotia was quite an adventure. A couple of weeks ago I
bought a 1960 Morgan Plus Four, which will be my winter (it's winter here, not
summer) project. Although in pretty good shape, It will probably take more
than one winter.
Cheers
