I note on the Denis Welch site that they claim a 6HP increase by just
changing out the intake filters to the ITG sponge ones ...
This is for a standard BJ8
This seems to be good value ??
Has anyone any experience doing this ??

Hi Steve. My opinion only, firstly you can go on spending money forever
getting more horsepower, a lot of which will only produce small gains.
The biggest problem with the standard engine is lack of compression, so
the one step big improvement is to fit semi dished pistons which brings
the compression ratio up to around 9.5 to 1. Then a 100M camshaft and
with no other modifications the engine will really come to life. From
there on the gains will be much smaller and this is where you start
pouring money in for small horsepower increases.
