Mike's observation is as sharp as ever. The Type EB Nippy was built until
February, 1937. From the end of June, 1936 the two-bearing engine was
replaced by the new three-bearing engine as used in the Ruby saloon cars with
no modifications. From December 3, 1936 at chassis no. 257842, a
three-bearing Sports engine was fitted to the Nippy, which had a special
fully-machined crank fed with oil from the centre main bearing.
