Gee whiz, right on the main point, wrong on the supporting details, as I learned when I was looking through some other references. Chic Vandagriff did, in fact, run Hollywood Sport Cars, but it wasn't opened until 1960. Don't know where the connection with James Dean came from. Chic opened Hollywood Sport Cars as a dealer for Gough Industries.
