Randy ~ It really burns me that we have been "force fed" this Ethanol laced
fuel without any input or consideration of vehicles that cannot use Ethanol
fuel without suffering significant financial losses in keeping those engines
running. This includes older marine engines, lawn mowers, chain saws, yard
equipment & on & on. I have found that an additive, "Starbrite, Star Tron
Enzyme Fuel Treatment", helps considerably. I add Star Tron when I have any
questions of weather there is Ethanol in the fuel. I also try to run the
Ethanol fuel out ASAP.
The following are a couple web sites that you may find helpful in locating
non-ethanol fuel: http://pure-gas.org/ &
http://www.fuel-testers.com/state_guide_ethanol_laws.html. You will have to
copy & paste them on your browser.
Some states don't even require that Ethanol "enhanced" fuel be listed on their
pumps & the attendants don't know either.
Hope this can be of some help,
Mad Mike (of Madison, WI)
ps ~ I also see significant losses of MPG in my "modern vehicles" when I get
Ethanol fuel & it usually takes 2 or 3 tanks to get me back to normal. The
worst is when I'm towing: My truck will drop from 12-13 mpg to 8-9 mpg.

After a week in AZ, a week at conclave, 10 days touring CO & NM, and now
heading home to MA, it's amazing how well the Healey (BJ8) runs on Ethanol
Free gas when we can find it.
A noticeable (huge) difference especially when we have to fill up with 10%+
ethanol. Going to make a bigger effort to search it out when at home, It's
worth it!
