Hi MIchael,
Assuming you have a reasonably sound car. Which means at least some rust
repair.
You must figure the cost of parts both hard (metal) and soft (Upholstery and
paint) and include between
1200 and 1500 hours of work. Shop rates around here are $65.00 to $75.00 per
hour.
How you value your own time is up to you.
to do a concours level car or the equivalent level driver should cost the
equivalent of nearly $75,000.00.
Just depends on the quality that you want and how much you're willing to do
yourself.
Most people would say it is cheaper to purchase a done car than to do a
restoration.
In any case, make good use of the list and of fellow club members willing to
help!
Good luck,
Richard

I have spent over 20K on parts alone. I did most of the work myself.
Paneljob and painting is cheap (3-5K each) here in my country. But still You
must add sandbalsting, plating, upholstery etc.
