JOSEF and others
An Australian named Bob Jane had been racing a Mk.11 sedan in the
Australian Touring Car Championship very successfully and was invited to
race in the UK with 'factory' assistance. He had ordered a lightweight
E-type.
I believe that he was one of the first race drivers developing his own
engines that was able to successfully bore the factory 3.8 litre out to
4.2 litres. It was his experience that helped the factory go to 4.2 as a
standard engine capacity.
I think Bob Jane's lightweight is still in Australia in a museum in
Western Aust.-- avery low mileage and original chassis. White with two
orange stripes from his fuel sponsor.
