It seems to be the season for firing up our projects for the first time so I
thought I would share mine with you.
BlueHealey is a Longbridge BN4 which has been tastefully modified (IMO)
during restoration. It was imported from California in 1998 and I bought the
project in 2002 right after the UK 50th event which I visited at Thruxton.
During the intervening years I also bought a BJ8 as a trial 'marriage' to
see if I could enjoy living with an AH. I hadn't even driven one when I
bought the BN4. Luckily I was bitten by the ownership experience as
strongly as the dream. Interestingly, the BJ8 also convinced me that an
earlier car was my preference.
As the car is imported it now has to be inspected for roadworthiness - our
Ministry of Transport test (MOT) - after which it has to be submitted to the
Driver and Vehicle Licencing Agency (DVLA) to register the ownership and
obtain an age related number plate. MOT is on Saturday.
If I ever get the time to develop the web site I'll document the build and
the mods in some detail, however until then; Since a picture speaks a
thousand perhaps you will find some of these interesting. The VIN details
are in the captions.
