side note:  One easily available 'screened lead' is coaxial cable, as
used for ham and CB radio antenna connections.  Make sure you get the
stuff with real wire braid on the outside, not just foil or you will
have trouble making good earthed (grounded) connections.  Coax comes
in various sizes.  The smallest should work fine for this use.
