There are 2 styles of the HD6s. The early ones had a vent in the
damper cap the later ones did not. The change came with the drain in
the chamber the later ones would have a raised ridge that goes from
the top of the threaded area down. There is a small hole on the top
edge of the threads to allow the excess oil to go into the carb and
not out the top lid of the damper
