have heard a lot about big Healey stub axles showing latent flaws when tested.
do you have them magnafluxed or xrayed? also, if magnafluxed, does
shot-peening seal the cracks so they cannot be properly visualized (as i was
told by someone who who restores healeys)? if so, is there an easy alternative
to removing paint and leaving the cracks open? lastly, can you rely on
micrometer measurements at right angles to determine whether there is wear in
the bronze bushings, or is there another method to check for kingpin laxity?
am going to race a bn2, so i want to take extra precautions.
