Do not believe what was said here about French people. They are very
very nice. You just need to accept that they are superior to any other
human being on this earth (joking). They just do not want to show their
English is not as good as it should be to have a conversation. Show them
you are willing to speak some words of their language. Even you fail,
they see you had a try. Then they can be extremely helpful speaking with
hands and feet, asking others for you, and try to help you.
Just accept they are French and French people are very proud of their
own. Don't disturb that. Otherwise you loose.
