Todd, on the MGB you can replace the all the seals with out any major  
work. The rear seal you will need to remove the rear engine plate,  
The from seal remove the timing cover. While the timing cover is off  
replace the timing chain and tensioner.
Make sure you replace the side cover gaskets and motor mounts while  
the engine is out. Also the motor mount brackets commonly break.



The transmission also front seal remove front cover, rear seal remove  
flange only.
