Keeping the function of the SU's would theoretically be possible but I don't
have real fuel lines hooked up to the carbs (I do have some lines but they are
just to confuse the masses)...also the fuel pressure is set at 42 psi, which
of course would be way to high for the SU's...I do have an adjustable fuel
pressure regulator so it could be reset but... and the distributor is
controlled by the computer so that would be an issue.....so you get the
idea...it could all be reversed but it isn't something you would do by the
side of the road.  Secondly, EFI is extremely realiable and the elements that
can go bad are all available from your local NAPA store....and the computer
will tell you what isn't working so it would be best to just fix the EFI. 
 
The heat for the injectors shouldn't be a problem.....and the fuel is in
constant motion at 42 psi....it flows from the tank, through the fuel rail,
through the pressure regulator, and then back into the tank.....so the in
motion fuel aids in keeping the injectors cool.  Additionally, this is a Works
Rally replica so I have side vents in the wings (fenders) which will keep an
air flow through the engine compartment.  
 
HP/TQ will be evaluted on a dyno later....... conventional efi wisdom says
power should be up about 20%.... and fuel economy and emissions should be
improved.
 
I appreciate your comments regarding DMH .... from what I've read about him I
have thought he would appreciate these changes.

It's awesome, and knowing DMH he'd probably want to use your EFI if BMC
would've allowed him to install it.
 
Just curious, any long term problems expected with having the injectors
mounted so close to the exhaust manifold, or is that a normal environment for
these things?
 
One thought - since you've kept the carbs in place, any value for keeping the
old dashpot pistons in the boot and installing them on the road if the EFI
goes kaput for some reason?
 
All the electronic business behind the seats- wow!
 
I look forward to your reports of fuel consumption and power - they both
should be improved with this six injector set up.
