The solenoid on a GRS should have a full 12V to energize the starter motor,
preferably 12.8V (more than a stock Healey starter requires). I experienced
continuing hot start problems with my GRS until adding a relay to the
solenoid circuit. The OEM wiring harness drops a lot of voltage through the
ignition switch and wiring. Try a fresh battery with a lead directly to the
solenoid trigger point.
