guides, but I had been messing with the mixture a bit and If I got it too lean
maybe it got warm enough to make a valve stick. As further evidence, the
cooling system overflowed when the engine stopped and maybe that's where the
heat came from. The rear carb seems to be lean no matter where I set the jet.
I suppose there may be some junk in the orifice. I hate pulling the air
cleaners. (not enough joints in the fingers) but it sounds like the right
thing to do. I'll see if I can clear it by revving and blocking the intake. If
not i'll have to pull the jet.
