Curt is quite correct in his stating that the underside was in black primer.
However, picture in your mind's eye the fact that the bare but complete body
shell rotated on a spit sort of arrangement as it proceeded through Jensen's
paint booths and the paint sprays reached everywhere they could. Therefore
relatively open and exposed areas of the iner panels did indeed receive
colour, not thoroughly, but with quite good coverage where possible. The
results were that anywhere you can see in under these areas had paint colour
on them, including body fasteners.
