[Healeys] side screen curtain

Hello all,  I am restoring the side screens on my BT7.  Any suggestions on how
to achieve the original finish on the brackets that attach the screens  to the
doors?  Zinc plating would seem to be too bright, cadmium too soft and dull
and they do not look anodized - I can't figure out what it is.
