Hi Randy,
Congrats on your progress so far. One word of advice; be absolutely sure
while it is assembled now to apply the door interior panels, fit the aluminum
finishers and door seals, and install the striker and door latch mechanisms to
make sure you have enough clearance in the sill area to allow a good door
closure. It is easier to make adjustments now than in final paint especially
if you need to move (message) metal in those areas. These cars are assembled
and taken apart so much during a good restoration that you become very
familiar with the process so when final assembly comes about you have plenty
of experience at it. Also install the trunk latch assembly to make sure it
closes and latches with ease before final paint. Don't forget to paint in
body color the battery switch bracket.
We inserted my fender beading after final spray and cure. It went pretty well
for us.
Those are things Iremember off the top of my head that will make a good job
look excellent. If there are others out there that have a better way (or
easier) of doing this please chime in.
