Not sure how good a compromise copper gaskets are. The whole idea behind
MLS gaskets is that the head & block are free to move in relation to
each other, as they expand & contract under temperature differences,
without breaking or harming the seal. AND, they do move.
The stock copper-asbestos-steel sandwich gaskets allow this relative
movement but the asbestos center is weak & prone to permanent distortion.
Solid copper does not allow the easy "self adjustment" that MLS &
sandwich gaskets do. It also loses strength at elevated temperatures.
I guess it's your choice.
