I have two BN1 steering gears I have stripped and cleaned only to find
the pin that fits into the worm gear has a problem. One has the pin
galded with a flat spot and the other has the flat upper portion of the
pin broken, keeping the pin from rotating with the bearings. The new
pins are $180.00! If I spend the $$ I think I might still have a problem
later and do not know it. What is everybody else doing?
I do not have a BN2 or a BT7 gear except for one somebody cut the shaft
off short. I also found one from a Jamaican!! But it is cut short also.
