Caution if using a spray on for any parts that will contact vinyl or leather
trim (bottom inside of doors) , tonneau, tops etc. I tried this once on
some side curtains and although the result was better looking than the tired
old part, it rubbed aluminum color off on the top. It was, let me admit,
not the cleverest thing I ever did.
I would recommend purchasing replacements and careful installation as this
is pretty thin stuff and bends/dents easily.

I have never tried to clean or polish the door trim plates. The trim plates
(door finishers) you are referring to were made of an anodized aluminum.
I'm
not so sure that you can get the correct look back by polishing. I have
used
an aluminum type of spray paint to get a fresh look on aluminum
transmission
cases or intake manifolds. You may want to look into that as an option if
the
cleaning / polishing doesn't do the trick.....Tony
