I had a 'chat' with Earthlink and was referred to other web sites that might
have solutions to the Double Message problem. I didn't find any at the
links that were provided. I then started a 'search' for computer forums
that might have discussed the problem. That I found. Although several
respondants thought it might be dual accounts or other administrative
matters, a common thread was conflict with anti-virus software -
specifically the e-mail scanning function.
Since I am using whatever Microsoft is providing on this new Vista computer
plus McAfee Security Suite and SpySweeper with Anti-virus, I am starting by
disabling the e-mail scanning in McAfee starting with this message. If that
doesn't work, I'll do the same with SpySweeper. If no luck, it's back to
the drawing board.
