Check out the action at VIR. There will be a car show for all makes.
Perhaps we can get a full field of Austin-Healeys from BN1 to BJ8. (3

Fans Can Join The Action With The Auto Olympics
Join VIR June 8-10 for the Gold Cup Celebration
DANVILLE, VA b Fans can be participants at VIRginia International
Racewaybs
Gold Cup Historic Races this summer, through the Auto Olympics.
Allowing fans to participate is usually not part of a race weekendbs agenda
but at the June 8-10 Heacock Classic Gold Cup Historic Races, VIR is turning
over a new leaf and offering fans a way to become active participants in the
weekendbs activities.
Planned by famed automotive author (and self-described bride moochb) Burt
b
B.S.b Levy, the Auto Olympics will give track guests the chance to compete.
Not in the races, but in something that promises to be more enjoyable for
many: a series of competitions including a car show, track touring, a short
rally
on the roads in the area and an autocross on VIRbs Patriot Course.
No special equipment or preparation is required for participation, plus
entrants in the Auto Olympics receive three-day passes for the Gold Cup
races;
four vouchers for the concession stand and the thrill of competing at VIRbs
Auto Olympics.
Competing for consistency and popularity instead of for fastest time on the
track, the Olympics bmay well be one of the highlights of the weekend,b
said
General Manager Josh Lief. bWe want the VIR experience to be a good one for
everyone who attends our events and we want to make it possible for everyone
to participate, not just watch from behind the fences.b
The Gold Cup is a celebration of the trackbs fiftieth anniversary, marking
the opening of the track at a race held August 3-4 in 1957. At that race,
Carroll Shelby defeated a pair of D-Type Jaguars in his Maseratti 450S to
open
the first volume in the trackbs history. Shelby is returning to the track
as
Grand Marshal for the Gold Cup.
