dust covers for front discs

I have a 1960, BN7  chassis #7443, that appears to have an original  front 
suspension with dust covers on the front discs.  I realize that the  parts 
manual shows the dust covers were fitted at chassis #9453 for a wire  wheeled 
BN7 
but by any chance were any earlier cars fitted earlier than  that.  How do I 
identify if my front suspension was changed? (other than  the installation of 
dust covers)
