Hi pd,

Consider that the flywheel only has four small bolts holding it, &
that the flywheel attachment is a very highly stressed joint. Old
bolts "could" fail from the cyclic stresses that are applied to them.

Any bolt that has been through 40 years of stress cycling "may" be
near it's failure point.

A flywheel has tremendous stored energy in it & if it comes loose it's
equivalent to a bomb going off near your feet.

I personally use "ARP" high strength bolts on parts like this.

Replacing the bolts is your choice. At this point, it is relatively
cheap & easy to do insurance.

Regards,
Dave Russell
