Ken, I deleted your original message but noted that you had not changed your oil filter for a very long time. I would say that the oil flter became clogged with debris which then caused the by-pass valve to open allowing the debris to flow thoughout the entire engine. If the by-pass didn't function as it should, there would be little or no oil lubrication in the engine. Could easily have caused the failure you describe. Alan Schultz 67HBJ8 |
