Hi Scott, that's tough to answer without knowing anything about your
calipers. I still use the stock handbrake lever and cable on my big
Healey to apply the Cadillac caliper pads mechanically but there is a
goodly bit of special fabrication involved between the cable end and the
cranks on the calipers. I've seen photos of a GoKart type disk rotor
and mechanical caliper installed between the driveshaft and differential
flanges that looked pretty cool. That MAY HAVE been on an AH100 that M.
Salter was preparing for a race, but I'm not sure of that. It seems
like I also ran across something like that while surfing the net for
aftermarket brakes.

handbrake?? The Cad ElDorado calipers I use on my big Healey have a
bellcrank thingy that mechanically applies the pads to the rotor...
I've seen an AH where an additional master cylinder was mounted thru the
rear bodywork bulkhead beside the driveshaft tunnel. The hydraulic line
to the rear brakes was passed thru the new master cylinder and the stock
handbrake handle was modified to operate a fabricated pushrod to it.
Pretty simple and it worked great in case of failure of the regular M
cyl. I don't know how it would do for a long-term parking brake
however. Just carry a wheel chock in the car with you (like I do) for
parking on a hill.
