Hey all,

I finally did one of those slapping self on forehead manouvers and
called the british specialist mechanic that I use on occasion. I'll
have tires by end of day. Thanks for the help and tips.

I also realized I sounded like a bit of a n00b in my initial email. I
am located out in Phoenix, Arizona, USA, one of the best places in the
world for car restoration (no rust in the desert. :). I'm a bit of an
avid/rabid collector and always have an endless stream of projects.
Presently being worked on at my house are:
1953 Studebaker Champion
1959 Studebaker Lark VIII station wagon (hot rod project)
1974 Jensen Healey MKII (2 of them)
1983 Porsche 944
Primarily I'm a mechanic type, but am slowly learning body work and
painting. I found building my own custom hot rod was a great forced
learning on the metal work and paint.

Finding the Austin Healey 3000 is one of my holy grail cars. I've
listened to stories for years from my mum who owned one when they were
new. So needless to say I'm a bit overly excited about this one.

Presently I'm in the process of getting the tires out to the vehicle
so that I can pull it out of storage, along with the boxes of parts
that go with it, so that I can get it properly inventoried and a plan
of attack started. This particular car falls under the basket case
category, but my review of the whole mess leads me to believe that
it's around 85-90% complete (minus soft items, like the interior).

What are the preferred organizations to join? Is there anyone on this
list in the Phoenix area? Which sites are preferred parts sources?
Short of the parts being expensive, are there any gotchas on finding
parts? Any bits totally unavailable now? (I had a 1953 Sunbeam Talbot
Alpine for a while, it was *impossible* to get anything for it, I had
to fabricate most everything myself.)

Thanks again!
Jody
