This is why there is no longer recess in grammar schools or "dodge
ball" or many other contact sports. There are people who wish to live
in a cocoon and go through life wearing a parachute, and in the
process want everyone else along for the ride!! We all grew up riding
bikes without helmets, played sandlot tackle football, went trick or
treating without escorts. We are becoming a paranoid society that will
soon be afraid of its own shadow. In the process we have taken away
the joy of being children from our youth. The only people profiting
from this are lawyers (not all). Progress and technology can be great,
but at what loss?

What should concern all Healey or vintage car owners is what happens
when those in the know decide that these cars are unsafe to drive on
America's highways and byways. Anyone remember in the mid 70's when
convertible production came to a complete halt because it was decided
that they were not safe. It all starts with a couple of baby steps and
the next thing you know you will no longer be able to own or drive one
of these awesome vehicles on Federal highways. You may not see it but
I
am sure that the future 50 are going to have a fight on their hands.
It
would be a shame if future generations are only able to see many of
these fine vintage automobiles in a museum just because they are
considered unsafe by today's or tomorrow's standards.
