Silly, Detailed Healey question.
As I was installing the new ignition wires in the Dist. cap I mistakenly
enlooooooooonated the carbon brush spring as I removed it. Having a few
reserve parts in the archives I fetched a couple of caps and started to do a
spring switch over. The springs are pretty much the same from one cap to the
another but "while I was at it" I put my continuity meter on the carbon
brushes just for "kicks and giggles" to see how they matched up. I got 20k
ohms on 2 of the brushes and 5 ohms on another. That is quite a difference
on the one and that is out of a brand new cap.
Which brush should I use? And why such a huge difference?
The lower resistance would pass more current according to Uncle Ohms Law.
Confused again,
