Hello List,
I am in the early stages of doing a ground up restoration of BN7L-605 which
has been is dry storage since the mid-1970s in warm, dry central Calif . Am
removing the front shroud, and it is stuck solidly to the sub-structure above
the instrument panel. I know there is some adhesive between the shroud and
the sub-structure. This shroud is in beautiful condition, and I don't want to
screw it up while removing it. On my previous restorations, the shroud just
popped off. Am considering pushing a putty knife from underneath the shroud
into the small gap between the sub-structure and the shroud, but do not want
to take a chance on putting "pimples" in the shroud.
Is there a better way?
John Snyder
PS: There will probably be more questions from me on this restoration. This
the first time I have done a car that some dumb PO has not messed something
up, and I want to do it right the first time.
